An Underreporter Notice is when the IRS sends you an automated CP2000 or CP2501 notice, claiming that you failed to report all of your income. An Audit is when the IRS asks you to provide evidence proving information reported on your tax return.
When to get us involved:
- Office or Field Audit. As opposed to a Mail Audit, and Office Audit is conducted at an IRS office. A Field Audit is conducted at your place of work or residence. These generally involve more complex audit procedures, and warrant having an expert on your side.
- Appealing Disputes. If you need to file a protest, and/or negotiate an appeals settlement, we have a systematic approach to doing so, and know how to negotiate IRS procedures.
- Unsure of How to Respond. We can help you understand what your notice means, and what you need to do about it.
